Our Fees
In order for our doctors to provide quality care, Sage Medical is a mixed billing clinic. Bulk billing is at our doctor’s discretion, but will generally be offered for children under 2 with a Medicare Card, HCC holders, Age Pension and DVA Pension card holders, for standard appointments. Our doctors charge a private fee for all patients whose appointments last longer than 15 minutes, and for Mental Health Plans.
For all other patients, there will be a fee payable to the clinic, over and above any Medicare rebate that you might be eligible to receive. We will only charge payments after your appointment, with the fee based on the length and type of appointment. You will receive your Medicare rebate via EFT to your Medicare-nominated bank account, usually within 24 hours.
For In-clinic appointments: We accept cash, Visa/Mastercard and debit cards.
For Telehealth appointments: Telehealth (video or phone) consultations are billed privately and as such, will incur a gap fee. As part of the booking process, we will provide a fee estimate, and you will be asked to provide credit card details.
Standard doctor appointments are 15 minutes. For more complicated consults (e.g., mental health, pregnancy options, eating disorder), or for multiple issues discussed, please book a 30-minute appointment with the doctor to allow adequate time. We ask all new adult patients to also book a 30-minute appointment. New child patients generally only require a 15-minute appointment.
To help us manage our schedule and serve all of our patients, we ask that you give at least 4 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. If you miss your appointment without prior notice, a cancellation fee will apply. For a 30-minute appointment, the fee will be $100, and for a 15-minute appointment, it will be $50. This policy ensures that we can accommodate other patients who may need that time. Thank you for your understanding.
PLEASE NOTE: All Saturday appointments are privately billed. New patients are welcome on Saturdays.
