Men's Health
Men in Australia are known to be less healthy than women, and to have a shorter life expectancy. Despite this, men are less likely to see their GP for health concerns. We know that sometimes men find it hard to talk about health.
You might be concerned about prostate and testicular cancer, infertility or erectile dysfunction. We encourage all men to participate in bowel screening and consider prostate cancer screening every 2 years once you reach the age of 50.
Men have a much higher risk of developing both heart disease and diabetes than women and we would recommend that all men aged 40 and above consider booking in for a Heart Health or Diabetes Risk Assessment appointment. These assessments are bulk billed at Sage Medical. Please contact our reception on 03 8606 3206 if you are interested in booking in for a Health Assessment.
Men can suffer from significant mental health problems, and these can be expressed as insomnia, anger, low mood, loss of libido, lack of energy or being more withdrawn. We believe men should be able to talk about stress, relationship difficulties, depressed mood, and anxiety.
If you are concerned about any of the health issues mentioned on this page, or any other health issues, please contact us on 03 8606 3206 or make an online booking now.
