Pregnancy & Antenatal Care
Whether they’re your first, last, or somewhere in between, having a baby can be a magical time. A pre-conception visit is a wonderful way to prepare for a healthy pregnancy ahead.
Your GP will work with you to develop your personalised pregnancy plan. From discussing pre-conception tests and fertility concerns to providing early pregnancy care, they’ll be by your side from day one.
Some of our GPs have extra training in shared care– a popular option for women with low-risk pregnancies. This service is provided in partnership with the Royal Women’s Hospital, Werribee Mercy Hospital and the Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s Hospital at Western Health. Shared care involves:
- seeing your regular doctor for most pregnancy checks, with less frequent visits done at your hospital
- delivering your baby at your local public maternity hospital
- post-natal care from your GP, who’ll go on to care for you and your baby
It’s a joy to help guide mums and dads through this exciting adventure. Take the first step by contacting us.
